'Stoneman' fears in Assam's Udalguri streets, 2 finally apprehended

Kokrajhar (Assam ): Is Stoneman back? That's the question being asked in whispers on the streets off Udalguri  district of BTAD, after at least  five persons including a minor  girl received  multiple injuries  in the past few months .  Usually the duo targets  people during night time .
Their  modus operandi  is to take advantage of darkness and hit  common people with stones and unleash  a reign  of terror .

Assam: 2 more NDFB-S cadres apprehended in Kokrajhar

Kokrajhar(Assam):  In a stepped up  counter insurgency operations against militant outfits in lower Assam districts,including BTAD,security forces apprehended two National Democratic Front of Assam  (NDFB)-S cadres in Haltugaon forest area near Jharbari in Kokrajhar district on Wednesday early morning.

NPS International School seal RFYS final spot with a fighting display

Guwahati (Assam): Gritty NPS International School bounced back from a two-goal deficit to eke out a narrow 4-3 victory over Arya Vidyapeeth College in a thrilling senior boys’ semi final of the Reliance Foundation Youth Sports football tournament here on Tuesday.
On the first day of the semifinal matches at the Assam Engineering College ground, NPS were in trouble at half-time as they were down by two goals after Krishna K (31st minute) and Dorjee Letro (34th minute) had put Arya Vidyapeeth in a strong position.

India get off to flying start on inaugural day of 1st SAARC Badminton Tournament

Guwahati(Assam): Indian shuttlers got off to a flying start and underlined their supremacy as they didn’t even break a sweat and defeated Nepal and Bhutan 5-0 each in their first and second tie of the day respectively, here at the Deshbhakta Tarun Ram Phookan Indoor Stadium on the inaugural day of the 1st South Asian Regional (SAARC) Badminton Tournament, hosted by Assam Badminton Association.
