Manipur :Powerful bomb found planted in Imphal shop

Imphal (Manipur):A powerful remote-controlled bomb was found planted in a shop in Khuyanthong area of Imphal city on Thursday. It was deftly handled by the bomb disposal squad, causing no harm to anybody.
The bomb was spotted on the 10th and last day of the 10-day "Sangai International Tourism Festival 2017", which was inaugurated by President Ram Nath Kovind on November 21. Police have beefed up security in Imphal areas.
The shop is owned by Ajit Patni, who sells iron rods and other building material.

Manipur : 4 PLA militants including 2 women arrested

Imphal (Manipur): Four militants including two women were arrested and arms and ammunition seized from their possession by police from Manipurs Imphal West district.
The four militants of the People Liberation Army (PLA) were arrested and one AK-rifle with five magazines, one lethod gun with 10 shells, one 9 mm pistol along with a magazine were seized from their possession, a press release issued by the PRO of Manipur Police said.

Instant Health Care : Northeast to have India's first ever 'Air Dispensary'

Imphal (Manipur):  Good news for the people of Northeast as far as your health is concerned.The  region  is all set to get India’s first-ever "Air Dispensary" based in a helicopter and the Union Ministry of Development of Northeast  has already contributed Rs. 25 crore as part of the initial funding for this initiative.
The state -of art disensary will have a helicopter based Dispensary/OPD service in such far flung and remote areas, where no doctor or medical facility was available and the patient in need will have  access to any medical care. 

Manipur CM Biren pays respect to slain AR jawans

Imphal (Manipur ): Chief Minister, N Biren Singh led the state in offering respect to two Assam Rifles jawans who were killed in a bomb blast at Chandel district headquarters  . Chief Minister   Biren Singh , Deputy Chief Minister  , Yumnam Joykumar Singh , Army, Assam Rifles, Police and others laid  wreaths to the mortal remains of the two jawans of 18 Assam Rifles at Imphal International Airport .

Manipur :Two Assam Rifles jawans killed and several others injured in IED blast

Dimapur/ Imphal : Two Assam Rifles jawans were killed and six others severely wounded in an IED explosion in Chandel district of Manipur this morning.
The IED explosion occured while these jawans were on patrolling on the foothill road near Mahamani village under Chandel police station on Monday at around 6. 10 am.

Battle of Imphal: Skeletal remains of WWII Japanese soldiers handed over to Japan

Imphal (Manipur)  :  Skeletal remains of Japanese soldiers who died during WW II in Manipur were on Wednesday handed over to a Japanense delegation  at a function held at Imphal War Museum, Sagolband Tera Amudon, here.
The remains were handed over to the Japanese delegation led by  Tokunaga San of Japan from Association of Recovery and Repatriation of War Casualty and  Kenji Aya, First Secretary, Japanese Embassy to India by the 2nd World War Imphal Campaign Foundation.
